So I got a snap shot of the wiring from the 2015 Service Manual:

and it's exactly the same as 2013.
"The blowers of both seats are controlled by the air conditioning amplifier assembly"

So basically the ac amplifier controls the entire system. I would need the AC Amplifier from the 2014+ Lexus GS for the auto feature to work.

One I got for free, it arrived in worse physical shape than the pictures in the eBay listing, seller actually issued a full refund, without wanting it back, turns out all the internals worked, so I swapped it out.
The other one I forget exactly what I paid, I think around $200. Then $70 for the door switch. So cost me just under $300.

If your willing to swap internals you can find ones in rough physical shape that still work for less.

Does the 2014+ auto cooled/heated control switch plug right into your 2013 non-auto control connector?

Yes, same plug, probably an extra wire or two. Just need the 2014+ AC amplifier for the auto to work.
