I’m considering this model but I wanted to be sure I understand whether you can put 4 same sized tires on the vehicle instead of the staggered setup. My concern is maximizing tire wear. I thought I understood that tires are expected to wear more quickly when staggered. If you can use identical tires, any recommendations?

if you are getting an AWD F-Sport, it already has a square setup (4 same size wheels and tires).
If you are getting a RWD F-Sport, you will have to purchase 2 additional wheels of the 19x8 variety, or 4 new wheels that are the all the same size.
There is nothing inherently undoable about 4 wheels and tires that are the same size even if the car didn't come that way from the factory.

Yes, you can. You are right about the Staggered setup... there are not a lot of tire choices and you can't rotate them. On the street, I'm not sure you'll ever feel the difference for not having a staggered setup.... maybe others can chime in.
The AWD already has a "square" setup (4 same size wheels and tires on each corner). I have a Hybrid but running F-Sport wheels. I did the square setup as well.
All you need to do is a buy (4) F-Sport front wheels and then you'll be good to go.

I ended up going square, was a great decision! Back to wheel warranty, and the car handles great! Arguably better than before.
Went with Niche Verona's 19"x8.5, with continential 245/40's

Any clearance/rubbing issues? Spacers needed? Or you just bolted up the 19x8.5 wheels and new tires?

I'm not an expert on the IS line's wheel/tire offerings but its not impossible to stagger the wheels, but square the tires...and through OEM testing confirm that this works within the tolerances of the AWD system...an AWD system which is basically the same one used throughout the Lexus sedan lineup.

You should be fine to square the set up even with the wider rim but I don't know if that would allow you to rotate the tires properly or not. The rear wheels at 8.5" may not clear the front brakes depending on the offsets on the wheels.

@brucereddy looks like you're asking about an IS350 F-Sport AWD (you accidentally posted in the GS forum). However, the general answer is yes - you can put the same size tire on wheels that have different widths. Every tire has a width range that usually fits about a range of 1.5inches (e.g. a 240/45/18 tire might be listed to fits rim widths of 7.5 to 9 inches).

For the GS they are all square (Same size). On the IS the rears are indeed .5" wider at 8.5" even on the AWD. The tire sizes are then staggered to make up the difference and keep the tolerances the same.

Update: I decided to go ahead with a default set of tires as per OEM specs.
The OEM tires I had on the IS are Bridgestone Turanzas - All Season - Run flats.
I have 2 more questions :
- Is it okay to replace the front tires only?
- I was advised by the tire guy at the Skips tires, Wheel works and Firestone to replace the front tires only because the ones in the back still have about 6/10 tread left.

- Is it okay to have Summer tires in the front and all seasons in the back?
- the Tire guy at Skips tires screwed up and put on BFGoodrich Summer tires in the front , when I specifically asked for the All-season tires( part of confusion could be his arrogance or the similar names of the BFGoodrich tire)
