Default Ugly Front License Plate Frame Removal

For the life of me, I can’t stand front plates—albeit I’m originally from TX which requires them.

Now that we are in Nashville TN (rear plate only), the first “mod” was to get rid of that thing and try to fill in the holes.

Our “new” CarMax Car was shipped from TX—thus the abomination up front.

For now I removed the cover, left the bolts, and just bought Atomic silver paint to paint them (today) until I can find something smoother.

Any other ideas

?

I got circular plastic plugs at Lowes, painted them gloss black and stuck them in the holes, just looks like I have a extra set of parking sensors but did a great job of covering those ugly holes, my holes were pretty small though. I had to carefully grind a little plastic sticking out away from the holes to make sure the plugs fit flat.

That’s a good idea. I’ll pick some up from Autozone and paint them Atomic Silver.

I had the same situation when I was living in TX and even though its required most people still go with one plate. I used the bumperplugs.com plugs and they look good like an extra set of sensors.

Default Bumper Plugs ordered

Thank you for the tip! I like that they are OEM color matched like sensors. Just ordered them. Nice clean look.

I looked into that but there is no way I am paying 27.99 for cheap plastic plugs. I paid about $1 for plugs at Lowes.

To be fair, I think the additional 26.99 is for factory paint match, however, if you buy touch up paint from lexus, you could arguably do the same with your $1 plugs for half price. =)

Plastic wrap the bumper in same color if you can find it or use black

Go to the body shop have them fill those wholes & paint that center bar jet black. It will make your Lexus look more modern and sinister. That’s what I did to mine.
