Default Vredestein Quatrac 5, anyone? #1 rated all-season at Tirerack.

Anyone try the Vredestein Quatrac 5? It's the #1 rated all-season tire at Tirerack for 235/45R18 size.

I found a lot of posts about them in the Lexus owners UK forum. I guess they're legit!

Hmmmm. I’ll have take a look and watch research the brand this particular tire when I get a chance. Just compared it side by side with the Conti DWS and it did out rank it all categories. The only problem I see is the tire sizes are limited. I run staggered rears. But very interesting tire.

Thanks,

for sharing with us.

I just ordered 4 from TireRack to replace my DWS06. Hope they're good!

I think these are the new type of tire that essentially offers semi snow tire winter capability but are also all seasons and can be driven all year and handle well like the Michellan Cross climate. I would be interesting hearing how these new type of tires are turning out, they are still pretty expensive.

After seeing the UK weather, I'm sure to get ratings like that on TireRack, they probably are really good. The UK knows their depressing weather LOL.

I've never heard of these Dutch tires but they sure have great reviews on Tire Rack. I will need tires withing the next 5,000 miles so I've asked my tire shop if they can get them. My Conti DWS6 are getting pretty noisy as they grow older.

My DWS06’s are also getting noisy. I think I will stick with Conti’s for another go around. I have been satisfied with them in all conditions snow or shine.

I know its a different playing field entirely but I used to run Vredestein tires on my road bike - they were good for that purpose...I'm sure if they got good reviews on TireRack then they are good tires. Let us know your first impressions.

Unless you get a good amount of snow and will be driving your car in a good amount of snow I doubt there is any real advantage paying the premium for these tires over the Conti DWS06 or good Pirelli's. These tires seem designed to give you semi snow tire performance for winter driving yet you can drive them all year round, really cool capability and helps a lot of people with RWD cars in snowy areas that don't want to have to switch out to snow tires every winter but probably over kill for most states.

This is a mid range all season tyre (if it the same as the European counterpart, Vredestein is(was) a dutch company).

However it is not the best option (which naturally depends on your choice, mine are: noise, aquaplaning and wet snow). Good Year Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 is a much better option for ~30eur/tyre more, Kleber quadtraxer 2 is a better option for the same price (as it is a Michelin CrossClimate clone, as Kleber is owned by Michelin).

These are cheaper than the Continental DWS06 and Cinturato P7 All Season Plus, at least in 235/45/18:

Vredestein Quatrac 5 146.71
Pirelli CINTURATO P7 ALL SEASON PLUS (94H) 175.00
Pirelli CINTURATO P7 ALL SEASON PLUS (94V) 181.50
Continental EXTREMECONTACT DWS 06 179.99

I've heard of these through Town fair tire. These tires are OK they really mid level tires as someone stated but they are not nanking tires so if you do get them they will be good tires.
