Talking 2015 GS gas mileage... WOW!

I just put 980 miles on my '15 GS the last 3 days... most of it highway. Not only was the ride and comfort exceptional, but I averaged 29.4 mpg for the trip. And for periods of time over 30 mpg. Not sure how I managed that but the screen don't lie (or does it?) Coming from a lux suv that got 13mpg on a good day, this is a welcome change indeed!

Excellent! My experience with mine is that the GS is a mileage abomination around town but absolutely wonderful on the open road.

Jplumlee,

If I am on the highway w/cruise control at 75-80mph, I get mid 20s (haven’t really looked that closely)—not exactly flat in my part of the state.

My F Sport is a disaster in city driving, but most of that is due to my right foot.

I’ve no clue about the accuracy of the consumption calculator. I’m curious as well.

Actually gas mileage is not really GS's strength when compared to its competitors.

IIRC this engine has been in existence since 2007 or thereabouts... can't expect competitive MPG numbers from tech this old...

In my brief ownership, I've found the computer to be off by 3.26%.

3.26% off ? I'll just have to check MPG the good old fashion way. Miles traveled by Gallons used.

What tires are you running?
I'm averaging 25.6mpg on the Dunlop Maxx Summer Tires that came with the car.

Right now I have the Yokohama YK740GTX. It's what were on the car when I bought it. They were basically brand new so we'll see how they wear.

2016 GS with Luxury Package. average 20-21 mpg city driving ( Stock Air Filter )
27.6 Max mpg in highway driving ( Stock Air Filter )

After replace K&N Air Filter: average 23-24.5 mpg city driving and 30...plus mpg Highway driving speed 75-80 mph.

The ES 350 I owned for Less than 60 days got around 17 MPG , in town. My New 2015 GS 350 Lux with sport + driving mode , gets 13 + MPG , in town. I'm so much more happier .... don't even care.

I have only one time seen my 2013 awd average above 26 mpg.
I use cruise control religiously, usually at 78mph.

Am I doing something wrong?
