Default Charging system malfunction

I have a GS 350 f sport 2017. Other day it said charging system malfunction. Dealer is telling me that it is due to bad gas? Does this make any sense. Please help, as they say warranty doesn’t cover it. I always put name brand gas, and put premium. But in case that I put regular gas, theoretically, when I am not, would this cause that issue. I would think it is a battery, alternator issue.

Very funny! Does elecgtrical system have anything to do with what gasoline you put in the fuel tank? Think yourself. No error code? Lexus dealer is so crooked?

Wrong forum this is the GS F.

Can you pull the codes off the OBD. You can confirm if what they are saying is BS or not based on that.

That's a baffling answer given - sometimes I feel like they will make up things thinking that the customer isn't well versed just to get you to leave if they are busy or just don't care. Take it to another dealership - its definitely something up with the battery or alternator...which are covered under the 4yr/50k original warranty.

Whats the mileage on your car? Only way they would deny warranty work is if your car has more than 50k miles...just thinking about it, if its a bad fuse maybe they could deny warranty but that's just petty.

I'm not sure why the dealer would state bad gas for charging system. Is the system still showing if so I would lean towards alternator, although car is pretty new for the alternator to be bad. How many miles do you have, dealership is full of crap!

What did they recommend? Did the fault clear?

I'm curious as to what repair they are proposing that they feel warranty would not cover.

Ok... I'm in FL, name the dealer... I need to stay away from this one for sure! Bad gas resulting in an electrical problem...
