Hairline crack in side mirror glass this is what happens.
So my mirrors are power folding and the other week when it snowed/rained/ice I apparently didn't remove all the snow between the side mirror and the car. So when it opened up, It developed this hairline crack and whenever I use the heated side mirror/rear button, the mirror is burning up from the inside and the blue mark keeps expanding. In any case, I got an entire drivers side mirror assembly on eBay with a chipped corner, but the mirror is not damaged for $50.

Wait, I'm confused. What do you mean by "didn't remove all the snow between the side mirror and the car"? And how did that create a crack? I was in the same snow as you but I didn't clean anything other than the windows, front and rear windshield. Just trying to figure out what I need to avoid getting this lol.

I think the mirror was frozen to the car in that spot and when it unfolded made the crack.

Ah, yeah. The low temperature was horrible. My side view mirrors were almost frozen, had to use my hand to push it fully open. Windows were stuck, had to wait until heat was on for quite some time before they went down. Had to open my door at the drive thru at 5AM
I had the same thing happen with my mirror and looked exactly like yours. I had the hairline crack but it could not be felt on outside of mirror. I had no type of impact and dealership agreed. It's getting replaced today under warranty.

Did you actually hear a "crack" when the mirrors opened up?
Don't see how that is possible. That damage looks to be caused by compression or impact. It would be more believable if it happened when the mirrors folded in and there was thick ice buildup on the doors, but even that's a stretch. Otherwise, there must've been a hairline crack before that and some water managed to seep into the crack and froze to make it worse. Did you use your ice scraper on your mirrors perhaps?
A little off topic, but are the side mirrors supposed to be anti-glare like the rearview mirror? Mine seem like regular mirrors (the rearview mirror does have anti-glare).

Yes, they are. To tell if they are working, while in the dark with bright headlights behind you, turn off your inside rearview mirror dimming and you should see the outside mirrors slowly brighten. It's quite subtle.
