I just picked up a 16 CPO F-Sport (delivered Friday), and I'm truly, madly, deeply in love. And, curious about a noise.

Passenger side cylinder bank sounds like slapping lifters / rockers. At least, that's the sound I'm used to in older GM engines. It is a mild rattle kind of sound.

Normal? Strange? Ideas?

Normal. It's the high pressure pump for the direct injection.

You can get these and see if it reduces the noise: 12605-38010 and 12606-38010

IBCGAV is correct--that fuel pump makes a ticking noise similar to a noisy valve lifter. I hear it when outside the car towards the front but not while inside, so I haven't done anything to quiet it down.

The part numbers referenced are covers (two pieces form one cover) with foam that suppress the noise that are fitted to other Lexus engines, but not our 4th gen, refreshed GS.

One concern to be aware of that I have read about in the past is the potential accumulation of moisture under the cover, leading to corrosion of the parts underneath. I can't tell you if this is true or not and what type of conditions would need to be present for it happen, but worth looking into a little bit if you live in a humid client or if your car is going to spend a lot of time outside overnight.

Yeah It's normal my 2016 does the same thing it's not even noticeable after it warms up my car only has 14K miles
