Battery pull cleared the Trac off and CEL. However, the Elec. Key error is still present. I'm still not able to revive my Vline though. If you put your car in manual mode is your car shifting from 4th to 5th to 6th OK? This to me is SUPER bizarre but I wonder if the car depends on some type of speed input to allow shifting into the overdrive gears.

Most companies would void your warranty if you installed unsupported experimental BETA software/firmware.
No information was withheld but since the unit will not display on the screen I'd have no way of telling them the exact version. I updated directly from the update prompt no "beta" software. Even if it was beta software that was offered by the company through there own device with no type of "back door" install that would be something I'd suspect a company would still support as that testing obviously produced a bug in the beta software.

Thanks. I'll check tonight regarding shifting, still at work And considering you didn't install the Beta versions I feel my stupidity for installing them can be ruled out as the cause as well.

Gotcha, I thought you installed BETA. So weird you're having all those issues. Never even heard of it, and I've read up on most of VLine threads on CL and other forums. You may have to manually "flash" back to previous firmware. Support will show you how to do this...keep us updated.

Support got the VLine back up by providing a firmware that was copied to a fat32 drive. I was previously trying to install the firmware listed on the support site using a NTFS drive (maybe that was the issue with my recovery steps). Their instructions also had a little more detail like making sure the radio was to "FM' and to on - off - on power cycle of the car then waiting 10 seconds for switch sources. I did note them the odd behavior the car is now exhibiting after updating that myself and @maclem8223 are now experiencing and provided them with a link to this thread.

@yelloiroc What version beta did you install? Was it firmware or the VLine OS?

No beta version. I only clicked the update link from the system update screen within Vline.

I spoke too soon as the unit is now boot looping.

Your firmware seems to be older than what I'm running. Maybe that's what causing your boot-loop.

I have VCore: V2OVL2.1.0.0 VBase: 32.21 (L24)

That would be me, and i installed both. Don't do it lol.
Update. Pull negative battery cable for a bit, all codes cleared and I'm a happy camper. On a different note. Props to Gromm they responded very quickly and respectfully told me to stop being stupid by installing Beta updates. 😁

It sounds like it broadcasted rubbish or corrupt data on the low speed CAN bus when it updated. Most unusual

@jdpdata How exactly did you mount yours and with what velcro? The glovebox has a sort of thin felt material over the whole interior and I can't really get anything to stick.

I used heavy duty automotive Velcro. It's not sticking to the felt material after a few days neither. Just resting on the shelf now.

I wonder if this communication path was newly added to help support the ODB feature they mentioned.

Yep they're probably working on it.
