Quick question for those who have this and use google maps/waze. Do you guys manually type it in using the lexus mouse? Is there a way to send from phone to the google maps/waze? I guess im wondering because i use my phone for ease/quickness to open the app and just start typing vs having to type it manually on the nav screen before i leave to my destination..

what phone do you have? You can't use either carplay or android auto? I do not use the gps on the vl2 unit directly, but if i need to type into the VL2 i have a mini usb keyboard mouse combo plugged into the second usb port for that use.

Why not voice entry? Android is quite good at that.

Since the last update I've not been able to use the Map hotkey from the controller and my WiFi is disabled everytime I start the car unless I disable Bluetooth before getting out of the car. I've had an open ticket with them since May.

Update to 2.5.0.0. Not seeing any difference except the 10 apps per page.

Map button still doesn’t work.

There isn't a way to send it from your phone, sometimes i use the mouse but 99% of the time i just tell it where I'm trying to go and it works great on Waze.

My map button doesn't work as well and its ticking me off . I use it all the time to go from a music video to navigation when Waze says there is a cop or something on the road.

I bet they screw up the Map button when they release Android Auto. It was working before then.
Voice input works well for me, no need to type anything out manually.

I wish @gromaudio would provide a log of what’s in their updates, especially the firmware ones that often time cause the unit to brick. I hope they fix that map button soon

Me too! I've asked them a dozen times for change logs. They reply they don't post change logs anywhere 😠. You could email them and ask. Most of the time they say "bugfixes". Like that is very useful to any of us.

There quality control is garbage, we may not have a lot of options now but I'm hoping at some point the company listed below makes a screen for the GS.


I'm pretty sure the IS in the video doesn't come with full screen support from Lexus. At the end of the day that's what i want, full screen support without trading my 14 in for a 16+.

That issue seems to be widespread so it's a lil shocking that someone is now "following up" 8 weeks after the ticket was submitted. What about the WiFi / Bluetooth issue?

This is why I'm never updating the firmware. I occasionally get the black screen but everything else works well so why screw it up?
