Just a quick update regarding this Grom VL2. After their most recent firmware and version update, the system now boots to CarPlay in under 20 secs. It’s been about a week since I’ve updated it and only twice has it had an issue where it couldn’t connect to my phone. After a power restart of the radio unit it worked again. Overall cannot be happier with the new boot time , it makes it feel factory now. The boot time before was 3 minutes.

This has been my experience since install a few months back. I assume I got the new firmware. Don't want to check or update since it's working so well
Anyone find the sound quality for music to not be that good? I installed the vt2 on my 07 GS350 with the mark levinson system and I found that the sound quality to be very low res. Especially compared to the old gta bluetooth car kit I had previously.

Hello, most likely you need to adjust the sound settings for for the GROM mode of your stereo. Here is how to:
I already adjusted the equalizer settings in the car. The bitrate of the audio being supplied from the unit is just not very high quality
There should not be any issues with the sound quality. If you have already adjusted the sound settings using the Factory UI, as shown in the video we posted in the previous reply, we recommend you contact our technical team at https://gromaudio.com/support.html They will help.
I recently updated my Vline to the latest firmware and now the screen always boots to the Lexus GPS. I have to hit the "Media" button to get to Carplay, which works correctly. Is this some sort of setting I'm overlooking? It used to boot directly to Carplay.

yeh try going into menu , general , 2nd page, auto screen change off.
Hi. Thanks for the quick reply. I'm not sure I'm in the right spot. When I go to the Grom menu, I don't see the options you describe.
oh sorry I should had clarified it’s the setting in the lexus not the grom. As for the grom booting automatically into the CarPlay? For me sometimes it takes 10-30 secs sometimes 1 minute and it’ll load into CarPlay.
Hi guys, I just installed Grom Vlite VT2 today in my 2015 GS350 and the right side of the screen is cut off. I know that GS models before 2016 do not allow carplay to take up the entire screen. However the apps on the right side of the carplay interface are not visible. Is there a way to shift the interface more towards the left so I can see the entire screen? I attached an example of what my screen looks like compared to an example from Grom's instagram page. I submitted a support ticket to Grom but they're probably not gonna get back to me till Monday and I'm trying to get this sorted ASAP. Gonna also try updating the firmware but any advice in the meantime would be appreciated. My screen What it should look like (from Grom's instagram page).
Sometimes after the VLine is initially installed it needs to be restarted to fully get the factory setup correct and match certain parameters like the display size. Unplugging the unit for 20-30 seconds to restart the unit should resolve the issue. The issue should not happen again from there.
