2013 Battery Replacement
The battery on my GS350 is dead and needs replacement. How critical is it to use a "battery memory saver" device when changing out a battery? If one is NOT used, how much of a pain is it to restore all the settings?

Your settings will be remembered. All you'll need to reset is the clock.

I disconnected my battery on several occasion to install various things in my car. Sometimes for hours at a time and never had any issues other than having to reset the clock. Be advised that if you buy non OE battery, you will have to remove the sleeve. I recommend getting the Costco Interstate battery.

My Interstate battery from Costco is in and all is well. Sirius/XM fired right up. No dash warning lights lit up. My mpg and ave. speed were reset to 0 but obviously not a big deal. I decided to test out putting the battery cage back on but it was a very tight fit and the heads of the studs for the wire supports would rub on the battery case so I abandoned that plan.

Lost my seat settings
I had my check engine light as well as VSC light come on and my fiancé thought it smart to unplug the negative from the battery and reattach to clear the lights (which worked) but after my seat program settings and for a while even the windows (but that went back to normal sort of except you can hear the motor when you put up passenger side window) and now I lost my ability to use my seat preset and I cannot preset any radio stations is there something I can do to return my seat setting and everything else back to how it was before he did this?

Unplugging the battery to turn off the check engine light doesn’t do anything useful.
The check engine light will just come back on eventually as the fault which caused it in the first place is still there.
Disconnecting the battery shouldn’t disable your seating memory. But you can try moving your seat all the way forward and then all the way backward then see what happens.

I found a fix on YouTube actually to reset the seat memory cause unfortunately by him doing that it did cause my seat memory to not work which I’ve read a couple other people say the same thing happened to them as well and as of now I just passed an echeck and lights have not come back on it’s been about a month or so so fingers crossed nothing serious is going on as I also just got a tune up done
