0-60 times
GS350’s 0-60 is slow. It seems in real driving conditions, the difference of 1 sec here and there is not much, however dynamic makes the difference.
Even Honda Pilot is neck to neck with GS350
BMW & AUDIs are much better in this regard
I again miss my BMW although I knew this before buying.

While I agree the BMW's and Audi's are quicker, the Honda Pilot is not quite "neck and neck" w/ the GS. Generally speaking , 0.1 = 1 car length and those two would not be close especially at the end of the 1/4. 0-60 in not a great indicator of all out performance as it has a lot to do with gearing and traction.

If 0-60 times are what is important to you, then you will be disappointed in most Lexus products.
I always think faster seems better, but then I am reminded everyday, stuck in traffic, that there's no point. What is important to me is a compliant ride, high quality interior, comfort, and extreme reliability with the ability to toss it playfully around corners when the opportunity arises, and in this, I feel that the GS delivers. Not saying I would mind more power, of course. Who wouldn't?
It's just reaching the end of its life cycle. It was more competitive when it debuted. As you can see in this Motor Trend comparison test from 2012, the times were pretty close, save for the A6 which was fleet even back then:
4th place: Infiniti M37S, 0-60mph 5.5sec, 1/4 mile in 14.0 @ 99.6mph
3rd place: Audi A6 3.0T, 0-60mph 4.7sec, 1/4 mile in 13.4 @ 102.2mph
2nd place: BMW 535i M Sport, 0-60mph 5.5sec, 1/4 mile in 14.0 @ 99.3mph
1st place: Lexus GS350 F Sport, 0-60mph 5.4sec, 1/4 mile in 14.0 @ 101.0mph

There's always something quicker out there, especially with the newer cars with turbos that get a huge torque advantage down low, it's hard for the GS to compete from a stop. Brake torqueing helps a little bit getting out of the hole.
From a roll, the GS can keep up well provided you are in M mode and keep the car in the power band.

It really depends on how you drive it, I only consider a car slow if I have to rev it over 5k several times a day. GS350 does not really fall into this category unless you are racing it.
I was also looking at 535i and A6 3.0T back then. For daily driving and occasionally spirited driving I think GS350 is just as fast if you are willing to rev it a bit higher.
Magazine test result is another story of course. Sometimes they brake launch the car which gives advantage to boosted engine. Nobody does it in everyday driving, as least not with a midsize luxury car.

The 4GS isn’t a slow car. It’s adequate for what it is, but far from slow. If one thinks the 4GS 350 is slow try driving a IS250, that’s a slow car. The 4GS competes just fine in its segment regarding acceleration, it won’t win any races, but for a engine that’s been in use essentially since 2006 it’s not a bad motor. Also one might want to try driving the early 2013-2014 4GS’s. The newer 8 speed auto tends to be slower accelerating then the early 6 speed gearboxes used in GS.

Why does it matter? I doubt you are doing 0-60 at every stop light. And if you are, I doubt you can tell the difference between the 5.0 vs 5.5 seconds that it takes you to get there. And if you are racing one of the cars you mentioned above and losing, then you should probably stop because you are going to hurt an innocent person out there. Unless you own a drag racing car, 0-60 shouldn't matter to you. There's so much more to a car than 0-60. How silly!

My AWD GS feels plenty quick around town. I had a GS430 with the V8 and it felt quicker because of the torque and it weighed less (curb weight was 3715lbs vs my current '13 AWD GS at almost 4000lbs). My old 430 was bit of a gas guzzler especially when driven a bit more spirited but had no where near the handling and feel of my current non F sport GS.
OP: If zero to 60 times of the GS make you frown, i'm sure there are things about the car that don't. If straight line power is the priority, then its not surprising that GS disappoints and I'd respectfully say to trade it in for one of the cars you mentioned or trade up for a CPO 2016 GS F.

It is not that I didn’t know this 0-60 difference before buying 2017 awd fs in the start of 2018. I made a conscious decision to ignore 1 sec difference and not go with twin turbos due to maintenance issues. However the difference is there in back of my mind and I revisit the decision
The newer , maybe post 2016 , twin turbo 6 cylinder Audi and BMW are in mid 4 sec range and produce about 340 bhp.
what we need is a reasonably priced (2.5-3k) super charger kit to add about 50 bhp. that will make it king of mid sized sedans

Also don't forget your comparing most of the German brands, which are using turbo's. Honestly when I had the GS I said the same thing, its slow, needs more power. At the end of the day I would have never used the full potential of the power as I never brought it to track day.
