Well, my combined radio and nav unit in the my GS F-Sport 2013 is toast. Lexus just quoted me $2734 with labor to replace part P10082. Can anybody advise on
1.Other places I could get a replacement unit?
2. Whether there are alternative units that could be installed in place of the original Radio and Navigation Unit?
3. Other ideas/recommendations for getting fixed.
For those interested in how this happened: I pushed the left round radio button a little too hard, it went in, couldn't be pulled out...fast forward 1 year and now my Navigation/Radio display is caught in a loop. Gutted.
Have you tried all means to pull the button back out? It could very well be that if the button can be pulled back out everything will work properly again.

Agreed. Pressing and holding the power button causes the system to reboot. Sounds like the button may be stuck in this "pressed" position, causing the endless loops.
Here is what one guy did, but it would be very easy to mess up the ****:
I ran into this problem today and wound up on this forum looking for solutions. I was able to pull the **** back out using 2 popsicle sticks and a pair of channel locks. You may need to shave the popsicle sticks down with a razor blade but should be able to get one in the top and bottom. I was careful not to squeeze too hard so as not to damage the metal and the **** came right out. I hope this method works for others. (note that channel lock images below were taken after the **** was pulled out)
The solution is just get some very sticky tape (Gorilla heavy duty) and pull/tug/yank the volume **** back out. All the previous threads about this basically ends up to this as the most effective way (in terms of time and money).

Use Gorilla tape that is rated 30 lb - it worked for me.
Well, I got the button out but I still get a warning to the effect of "do not turn off the power the system is trying to install..."in a loop.
Any thoughts on whether the radio replacement would do the trick?

It may be helpful to others to learn how you were able to get the button out, and if there was any physical damage to the button or face plate itself.
I suspect your radio/navigation system might require a forced reset to get out of the continuous loop it is in, but I'm not sure if there is a 'formal' forced reset method that can be done. As you probably know most electronic equipment usually has either a reset button or a method (like holding two buttons down at the same time) that resets it. Maybe someone knows how to reset the radio/navigation system. Don't give up on what you have.
. .
Edit: It's my understanding that when Lexus learns of a customer with a radio/navigation system that remains in a continuous reboot loop they recommend resetting the system by disconnecting the vehicle's battery.
Here is what Lexus has advised:
"The correction is a forced reset and clearing of the errant data from the system. Disconnecting the vehicle 12V battery for at least 5 minutes and then re-connecting the battery completes this reset."
Those ***** are less than $2.00 a piece. Somebody pushed too hard on the tune **** on mine. I tried to get it out without damaging it but to no avail and screwed it up but I got 2 replacement ***** from local lexus dealer for less than $5.00 so don't worry about damaging them. Use jbweld to attache something you can pull on and throw it away.
