Joined the GS Family on Monday
Hi, I purchased a new GS 350 F Sport on Monday. I upgraded from a 2015 IS 350 F Sport. I really like the GS. The positives relative to the IS for me are as follows:
+Bigger size
+Higher seating position (IS seating position was low for some passengers). I was okay with it though.
+Higher quality materials overall
+Better overall craftsmanship
+Stiffer chassis
+Handling similar to IS
+Balanced feel
+Driving seems more effortless than IS
+Conveniance features (memory seats, power activated trunk, etc)
+Additional safety features
I loved the V6 in the IS and love it in the GS as well. The power and torque is more than adequate for me despite the small increase in weight.
I almost bought a used low miles GS F but did not because of the higher of ownership. I do at least 20,000 miles year. Great car but I feel I am getting most of the goodness of the GS F in the F Sport.
Car overall feels like a more mature, refined and luxurious IS. Lexus did a good job of keeping the car fresh even though it’s overdue for a refresh. I have not experienced any downsides so far.
I would love to hear the experience of others who made the same switch from an IS F Sport to a GS F Sport.

Made the switch from an '11 IS350 AWD (non f Sport) to a non F-sport '13 GS350 and it was the best decision I could have made. You hit the nail on the head as the GS essentially feels like a grown-up IS with more room and more creature comforts.
Congrats on the purchase and enjoy! Any pics??

One thing I like is that the GS is relatively rare. The downside is that it looks too much like the ES when viewing head-on. But I can't think of any other car in this size and price range that I would rather have... especially because I place such a high premium on reliability and durability.
Welcome! and post some pics... I know it's just another GS on the GS forum, but we still like looking at other owners' rides!

Yep... ES. It's gotten easier to tell them apart, but I still find the 2016-2018 ES front looks very much like the refreshed GS. It's the LEDs and spindle grills that get me confused.

I can see it from the back. i think the new es with the triple bug eyes looks pretty similar to the gs with triple led, I like the GS LEDs better though

I recently did same thing...went from 2016 IS 350 to 2019 GS 350 f sport. I really loved my IS, said a teary goodbye, but wanted more room and larger seat with more adjustments. I could never find a good comfortable position in the IS seat...and I'm not a large person. You nailed the positives relative to IS. IS felt a little more nimble, but very happy with GS...feels so smooth and refined with plenty of power for me. Now if I could just figure out the dam windshield wiper control...
