Ask about their dealer fees or any doc fees. See what they tell you...maybe they'll tell you something different but that was my experience. Same thing with Tri-county Lexus with these oddball bogus miscellaneous fees that come out of no where when you start getting into the details.

yea I’m gonna ask. Now I’ve been considering the RX since I’m already at $25,000 might as well start looking at cars that cost 30

Lol. Then you'll start looking at something that's 35k. It's a dangerous game you're playing.

The RX is VERY different from the GS for a multitude of obvious reasons. If you need an SUV and feel there is more value in spending toward an RX, i'd say the RX is a great place to start..but definitely get feedback from the RX forums once you start looking for one.

yea I still really want the GS but my wife keeps bugging me to get a bigger car. Love the GS cuz it just has that made in Japan quality feel that the RX seems to be slightly missing. Besides the fact it’s way more fun to drive. Living in NYC though bigger cars are better for these roads

lol I can’t play that game because my credit isn’t good so I can’t finance too much otherwise I would’ve went crazy already and financed a GSF

If I had to do it all over again I would target a '16. I have a '15 non f sport, red with grey interior. LOVE it, but I would appreciate some of the little updates/upgrades that rolled out in '16.

HAHA! I thought about it too, a '16 GSF can be had fairly reasonably, but I do not like even the idea of RWD.

yea like what does the 16 have that the 15 doesn’t? You think it’s worth 5-10k extra? I can get a 2013 for 19k-20k, 2015 for like 23k depending on miles some are 25k. 2016 seems like they’re all $30,000

I've had both the pre-refresh (2015) and post-refresh (2019) GS. If you like the post-refresh styling of the 2016s (and on), then yes, there are some things about them that make them pretty nice. But at least for me, it would not be worth $5k or more.

thats what I’m saying. I like the grill but besides that it’s not really different. Better navigation, what else is different? Doesn’t seem worth the drastic price difference. It sort of does make the older shape look slightly outdated. That grill is just insane.

Some of the improvements on the 16+ models:

Updated navigation (full screen map capability).
Updated remote touch/control.
Updated HVAC display
New instrument gauge cluster
New engine (2GR-FSE vs 2GR-FKS)
Availability of the Lexus Safety Suite (optional on 16, standard starting on 17). Includes all-speed dynamic radar cruise, lane assist, and a few other items.
Interior trim changes

My 19 is quieter than my 15 was. I am not sure when, between 2016 and 2019, that this happened.

So, would I pay more for a 16 than a 15? Yes, I would. Not $5k more, but I would probably be willing to pay $2-4k more, but only if it were equipped with the safety suite.

wow thanks. Had no idea the safety suite was standard on all 2016 and the engine change. To me that alone is worth the extra money. What is land assist? Radar cruise is just automatic cruise control right? That doesn’t sound like a safety feature more like a convenience. I’m curious what the safety suite really entails if you care to explain :-) I’m all for paying extra for piece of mind with my wife and child driving most of the time without me since I’m always at work
