Anyone ever had issues with side bolsters not recalling at all randomly? My car is in to have it checked out since it happens 50% of the time for me but they aren't able to reproduce it.
They gave me a new 2019 ES for now, so my thoughts:
I must say I don't really care for carplay but the touchpad nav is horrendous, definitely prefer the joystick. Lane trace assist deactivates if you don't keep your hands on the wheel so morning traffic is more involved than our cars. Its a super quiet and soft ride so I can see how it sells but its also not as premium as our GS. Most impressive thing about this car is I've been averaging 30mpg with the same kind of driving in the GS which I get 22mpg. Hwy driving has the mpg bar maxed out all the time which seems crazy for this v6. I wonder if you could push 50mpg. I'd be more inclined to get the ES if it were AWD, hybrid had more power, and finish was nicer(simple things like the window switches)

I haven't experienced nor seen this seat issue before. Keep us posted.
As for the ES, I think the new one is the best ever, and respect it tremendously. And yet, I have zero desire to own one, AWD or not.

As for the side bolster issue, never experienced it. That inflation is one of my favorite things about getting in my GS.

My memory seats are a little wonky every now and then too. Mine is more infrequent though and more-so related to not recognizing minor adjustments made to a saved position & then trying to go back to that exact original position.

They're keeping it for a week to try and figure it out. not sure what they're gonna do except say hey it didn't recall this one time.
Don't get me wrong, I really miss my GS but like JDR said I respect it and see how it sells and its perfect for people who don't like SUVs still want a floaty super quiet sedan. I'd still want more from it to pick it over the RX or GX though for family use
