First gear
So this has happened twice now. First time I was at a light and when the light turned green I tried to go but it seemed the car was in first and only slightly engaged before I felt what I thought was a love tap but it was the car jerking forward assuming gear caught. Second time was today I was in sport plus and manual and the car felt sluggish and then jerked again. Is this a common issue or is this a transmission issue I should be really worried about?

But I don’t left foot brake and when it does decide to take off it’s a sudden jerk.

So the ol gal did it again. Got to a redlight and when it turned green i tried to go as usual however it just revved so i checked my footing and shifted it into manual and it was still revving and i had to put it in neutral then back to drive to get her going.

That is odd. What year is GS? Do you know if the the transmission fluid was ever changed? Sound like it could be either a sensor in the gear selector, tranny or low fluid. Unfortunately you’re the first person I’m seeing report this.

2015 GS F-Sport that i bought used at the beginning of the year. I guess i'll bring it up to my service guy when i bring it in for an oil change in a couple of weeks. I'm hoping tis nothing major as this is my first lexus.

Got this one from Amazon a couple of years ago, even provides live data. For $42, it paid for itself 3x over the first time I changed the TPS in my Sequoia.

It sounds like the torque converter is not always locking-up when you increase engine RPM when in-gear, which typically pertains to the torque converter or the level of ATF, however the problem could be any number of a wide list of things, e.g. a solenoid, a sensor, a control switch, the torque converter, the ATF oil pump, etc., etc. Let us know if any codes are listed, and what the code numbers are.
Hopefully you will see a Diagnostic Trouble Code like one of the following that pertains to the transmission (which will tell the technician exactly what the problem is):

I had this issue with my 2008 LS460(also with an 8-speed transmission). They called its a "Shift Flare", I would take it to Lexus, they had to update something with the ECU I believe. Whatever they did fixed my issue. Also all the newer lexus' have a sealed transmission so I doubt you have a low fluid level unless you're leaking it some where.
