So I did a complete flush of the brake fluid in my 2015 GS with 22k miles about a week ago. After doing the flush, the fluid in the reservoir was very light and clean, just like it should look with new fluid. I noticed after about a week of commuting (no track driving or spirited driving) that the fluid was already turning dark. It's not very dark, but more than enough to notice a difference. I'm wondering if the heat from the engine bay causes the fluid to discolor after a short time. The previous brake fluid flush was done 8k / 6 months ago so the previous fluid wasn't that old to have much residual fluid to cause it to darken. Any ideas?
i used toyota brkae fluid and after a few month it turned color now im trying bg brake fluid and it turned yellow but not brown yet. pretty sure its the heat that4 cause the color change. i might try some mutel brake fluid and see next time.
The color change is unavoidable, this is normal, doesn't stay crystal clear very long. Honestly its unnecessary, my first car had 232k miles on it never changed brake fluid and never had any brake issue. Never had a spongy brake.

I also used Toyota brake fluid so it must be their brand or DOT3. My last car was DOT 4 (Volvo) and it didn't discolor. Our Audi (DOT 4) also doesn't discolor.

Not sure how humid it is in your area, but it is humid in both winter and summer here in Chicago so brake fluid should be changed every 2-3 years or the moisture will corrode the insides of the lines and calipers over time.
