I have had mine for 3 weeks now. It's already cracked on both sides on the front. I keep it in my wallet, to which I'm always sitting on. Oh well. Definitely a little upsetting to drop $250-300 for something that may not hold up for 6 months.

I put my credit card key in a slim wallet and carry my wallet in the front pocket, no issues. Even when I had a regular wallet I always put it in the front pocket, never found it comfortable to sit on the wallet.

I have one of those breast pocket wallets. I don’t like my cash being all folded into thirds. Guess I need to find another wallet to use. I also don’t live anywhere that I worry about pickpockets. 1st world problems.

Great thread folks. Simple question though, if I was game, would this key be able to work in a 2013 GS 450H? I see a number of part numbers being thrown around, so I am a little wary of what to try and purchase. Thanks.

From the first post:

"Update: HYQ14CBA
89904-30L50 is the only Key that works on the 4GS all my other attempts failed."

I have the same car.

Yeah you have to be careful with the credit card key, its very fragile and should only go in credit wallets where you put in your pocket and not in your back pocket. Many have complained about them breaking in there back pocket, this is what my dealer told me and that sucks. I keep mine sandwiched in by credit card wallet next to two cards to prevent it from breaking.

I guess he thought it was ok since it's metal, but then again if the metal doesn't allow for any flex it cracks under stress. Eventually the crack will get worse and might damage the electronics. The credit card key is the only rigid thing in the wallet everything else flexes so this adds to the pressure when you sit on it.

For anyone interested this is the slim wallet I'm using, made from real leather and the stitching appears to be very strong:
I also used to carry my regular wallet in the front pocket all the time so you don't need a slim one.. The RFID blocking on the wallet has no effect on the use of the credit card key.

I use a ridge wallet with a money band. Sits in the front pocket as well.
