You probably could have plugged each hole and put a big patch from the inside for extra insurance.

@peasodos Yes, I could have found someone else to repair the tire, but then America's Tire refuses to sell me their Road Hazard insurance. They deem any repairs as unsafe..according to DOT policy for repairs. I understand the liability, so better be safe than sorry. Most have chimed in correctly in this thread. Still pissed I have to buy a new tire, but that's life.
