Front defogger only runs on high fan speed
Does the front windshield defogger feature only run at high fan speed?
When I toggle on front defogger by using the button, the fan speed cannot be lowered. It seems to run at constant high speed, which is annoyingly loud.

The A/C system is doing exactly what it is designed to do!
The dehumidification function operates and fan speed increases. Set the outside/recirculated air mode button to outside air mode if the recirculated air mode is used. (It may switch automatically.)
To defog the windshield and the side windows early, turn the air flow and temperature up.
Using Automatic Mode fan speed is adjusted automatically according to the temperature setting and the ambient conditions. Therefore, the fan may stop for a while until warm or cool air is ready to flow immediately after the Auto Mode button is pressed.
Humidity sensor - A sensor, which detects humidity inside the vehicle and the temperature of the windshield, is provided to detect fog on the front windscreen. Due to the sensor, when automatic mode is set the air conditioning may make the following controls:
●Changing the amount of air flow
●Changing the amount of air introduced from outside when in outside air mode with the air vents in the feet position
●Changing the settings of the air vents to the windshield when the feet position is set
It's all right there in your Owners Manual...

Most cars with automatic climate control will automatically blast the front defroster when you enable it. Totally normal.
