I have a 2019 GS 350 F Sport that is six months old and my fuel pump went out on me this past Friday July 26th . Very scary ordeal as I lost all power driving on I-95 in West Palm Beach, I was able to coast off an exit and then the engine completely turned off. I had it towed to Lexus of Palm Beach, they gave me a loaner and called me first thing Saturday morning to tell me they think it was the fuel pump.
On Monday they called to say they ordered the fuel pump but it wont be delivered until Aug 15th at the earliest. WTF 3 weeks to get a fuel pump in??
They told me that there has been an issue with the fuel pumps on some of the early production runs of the 19's, and that's why its taking so long to get fuel pumps in.
Has anyone else experience the same issues with fuel pumps on the GS?
This is the first time I've had a mechanical breakdown in a car that I've owned in 35 years.
This is also the fifth Lexus that I've owned and I've never had any problems what so ever until last Friday.

I haven't heard of this.
It makes me wonder why the 'early production runs of the 2019s' might experience this problem. Did Lexus change something (design change) about the fuel pump, or was there a change in vendors that supply the fuel pumps, or was one part that makes-up the fuel pump found to fail in a rather small percentage of fuel pumps installed on early 2019 Lexus models, including the GS 350s?
I presume this fuel pump is likely used in other Lexus models. You may want to ask your Lexus service advisor about it, or ask around Club Lexus in the other forums.

First time I’ve seen this. No issue with my 19 thus far. If I remember correctly, it was built in November 2018. I’m at 3500 miles.

There was another thread about this a few months ago. There was TSB issued for affected models.

Hello,
I’m in Canada and my 19 IS 300 F Sport experienced same situation. My car literally stalled in the middle of the road. It happened 10 days ago and I’m still waiting for my car get repaired....
Any updates on your vehicle’s repair progress? So far I hear nothing.

That is scary!
430Chuck... I was on the I-95N in WPB a couple of weeks ago in my 02 Sequoia and hit the bump where the road meets the overpass on the curve by the Belvedere on-ramp, and the Sequoia lost throttle response... nothing from the pedal at all, and the dash lit up like a Christmas tree. Luckily the truck was gradually slowing at a rate of about 5mph per 5 secs, but it was still scary as hell at 6:45am on a weekday. I pulled to the shoulder safely and after shutting off and restarting, the accelerator pedal position sensor reset itself and all was good. That's the same curve where my 15 GS was totaled last summer. Miami and Broward are slowly moving into WPB, and it's getting more crowded... what a change from 20 years ago...
Did you get your GS back? How long was the actual delay? Can you post a pic of the bulletin or service invoice for the rest of us to see?

So I'll probably take it in at my 20K service or if it failed first before that or don't bother at all.
