GS - 4th Gen (2013-2020) Discussion about the 2013 and up GS models

Is it just me or do the Michelin MXM4s tires produce a lot of road noise?

I could have sworn the stock Bridegstones were quieter. Or maybe it's just my 2013 showing it's age?

I can't speak on the GS because i'm currently running Continentals but on my fathers Camry we had those tires(MXM4) and they were initially pretty good and quiet but as the tires aged(after 30,000 kms) they became a lot more noisy.

Keep in mind we’re running 40 series. Those are going to be loud for any car. All depends on the road too. Freshly paved roads, tires are very quiet.

Yeah, I guess it's normal. Just never really noticed it before.

Tire noise is usually caused by the air flowing thru the tread. Treads are designed to prevent noise but if the tread wears unevenly it causes noise. Tires are quietest when they wear evenly to 0 tread depth.
