Default Removing Passenger Side Mirror (Help!)

Hi Folks

So I hit the garage door and cracked the black plastic shroud on the passenger side mirror. How does the mirror come off so I can change the black shroud? I tried to pop it off by lifting the mirror on the bottom but it did not come off. Any suggestions or have a manual that could help me please.

It has been a pain but was lucky enough to get the parts from a dealer in Arizona via Ebay. A fraction of what the local dealer charges in NJ.

Thanks
ExtrmeLex.

You need to pop off the mirror glass first, then there are three or four screws, and it comes apart and in three primary pieces.

The mirror glass snaps in at each corner. Pull gently on each one at a time until it pops out.

Careful putting the mirror glass back in: press gently one corner at a time. I was too aggressive, pushing two opposite corners at the same time, and I cracked the glass.

I did the same thing on my RX this summer and hit the garage opening and broke the mirror housing. It totally screwed up the motor in the folding mechanism. I just ordered the complete pre painted assembly from an online Lexus dealer. It was considerably cheaper than my local dealer parts department. I took mine apart and it was a can of worms and didn't want the hassle of repairing it. Also, one of the tabs broke on the mirror itself when I removed it. I had to remove the door panel to replace the assembly. I couldn't beleive how easy the process was, it literally took all of 30 minutes to replace.

Thanks again for all your help. I ended buying the shell from Arizona Lexus online. Awesome price via ebay. All done!! I was careful not to crack the glass.
