Once you own a 2013+ GS how can you own/drive any car less than this? Forget about beaters I'll never go back to Honda or Toyota, Lexus for the rest of my life

I daily drive my 14' GS. In fact, since my work is only 3 miles away, I find any excuse to drive it further distances

I think picking up a $1K corolla is probably going to bring you more stress and problems than just driving your current GS as a daily beater. I can't imagine the $1K Corolla being more reliable than your GS. And with a daily, reliability is probably one of the most important aspects.

I have a 2000 Ford Explorer that I drive to and from work most days. I drive the GS the rest of the time.

Daily Driver for me. I only have a 4 mile drive each way to work. Only put 5-7k miles per year on my car.

I daily the GS in fair weather, and my Escalade in cold/inclement weather. Living in TN we don't have too much worry for salt/sand on roads, after almost ten years of driving an SUV, the GS is still an adjustment, and as long as I am going somewhere by myself, I will drive it on weekends.

Having a beater to spare the GS sounds a bit extreme to me. I can see doing that with a GS-F... maybe. The numbers don't make sense to me though. You would have to do some pretty fancy mental gymnastics to justify the additional expense and to what end? Isn't the whole point of owning a cool car is to enjoy it?

Moving forward, I fully intend to be putting a lot more effort into actually enjoying my car and generally worry less about preserving it. Buying a car is horrible financial investment any way you look at it, so just enjoy the crap out of it while you have it and don't worry about depreciation.

I definitely agree with this. I believe all Lexus cars are made to be great dailies even the LC. The only Lexus that would be a weekend car would be the LFA. Even then I bet the LFA is way more reliable than many other supercars. I would only worry about putting miles on the LFA because it has appreciated so much already.

I/my wife daily ours. If someone doesn't want to daily theirs, that's cool too. Do what makes you happy. We all buy it for different reasons.

Mine is a garage queen only because I have to take the bus and train to work. I have no qualms about daily driving the car though.

Nope... I usually intend to but something always changes my plans.

I did daily my IS300 after I first got it because it was my only car, I got it with 16k on the clock so it was basically new. After I hit a deer like 7 years later and put a body kit on to replace the factory stuff, I got stuck in the snow leaving my driveway a few times so I immediately got a beater and the IS never saw snow again.

I upgraded that beater to a 08 GS350 after a while and drove that daily - was amazing in the snow and made my 70 mile daily commute much more tolerable/comfortable. It was nice to use the IS on nice days and bang through gears . That GS was getting old to me, so I went to look at a used LS460 with half the mileage but saw the F-Sport sitting in the showroom and had to drive it. Driving that sold me, so I swapped GS's and then got a 90lb dog a few months later. It only took about 3 times getting that furry beast in and out of the back of the GS to make me decide to get a dog hauler, so I got an Imprezza Outback first and then changed that after one winter into a Rav4. I love having a beater that can accumulate dog hair or sit outside without me really caring, so it would be hard to not have one now. Definitely helps that the Rav4 has some giddy up so I'm not bored driving it, lol

Edit, I should add that location influences the "daily" driver. Up here in the snow belt a lot of people have seasonal cars or buy winter beaters on a regular basis.

Daily! 2015 with 39k miles. My commute is only about 10 miles per day, 5 miles to the bus stop, then 5 miles back home from the bus stop. Oh, the beauty of using public transportation............. Helped me age young by many years with the reduced stress from traffic!!

My commute is about 40 feet since I work from home(bedroom to office), but I still manage to put about 15k a year

GS is an alright daily car. It's not remotely special enough for occasional moments.

I daily my 2016 GS and its a ~75 mile roundtrip per day. My lexus service center sees me too often with this commute + weekend driving.
