Default Buying Advice 2013 GS AWD

In Vancouver, BC Canada, finding a clean vehicle that doesn't have rust (east coast cars) or a GS without going down south to pick up a vehicle is next to impossible. In the next providence I can easily find for the same price a newer model, that has been subjected to more road abuse from the salts used on the roads and may not have been taken care of.

I've test drove this vehicle and really liked how clean it was. Minus some dents on the inside door trim. Owner gave me good value on my trade in, but I walked away as I wanted something newer. Like a 2015+ as it has more features and with the lastest refresh. A more aggressive front end.

However, I am always open to some compromises if a good deal presents itself. This vehicle in in Canadian dollars and is listed for 29,995 CAD or about $22,650 USD. Is this value to high, good deal or lower than the norm? As I may consider more closely if it worth not having some minor features missing eg BSM

Some things I factor in the final pricing is traveling cost if I go east or south to purchase and other expenses. Which will easily add a minimum of $1000.00+ once all things are considering making a great deal on a car anywhere else potentially moot.

One last thing, this actually qualifies for CPO

Thanks in advance

Since the warranties are expired, i'd have a good local mechanic check out the car. Though, it doesn't look like it has parking sensors or BSM and not sure how important those are for you. Its usually tough to find a low mileage F-Sport for under $25k USD.

I currently own a '13 AWD Premium and its a very reliable car. Bought it CPO and never needed any warranty fix. If you can get the car you posted as CPO for under $25,000 USD, I think its a great deal esp for an F-Sport which typically carries a premium price.

For a 2013, that is very expensive. I expect (and frequently see) those prices on 2015's and 2016's.I have been shopping myself.

The price seems high to me too, but it is in excellent condition from the looks of it, likely a conscientious owner.
See if they'll take $26k CAD.

I think this is because it is a low mileage F sport. You might be able to get it a little cheaper but that is pretty close. If you go with a 15 F sport with low miles you will definitely be at the 25k+ USD range.

That would equate to $19k USD for a '13 F-Sport with 45k miles (~73km) on the clock...seems too low of an offer. Unless the car has some undisclosed problem or obvious body work then maybe...

@Measured : is the carfax clean?

West Coast cars are always higher priced. What part of the country are you from? I know I can get a 2015 with more mileage for 31k Canadian in Alberta, but to get a single owner, dealer service, with a clean carfax are rare. Heck finding a GS, let alone a GS F sport is a difficult thing to do locally.

If I were to buy a 2015 GS F sport in British Columbia. I can expect to pay no less than 40k

Carfax is clean. It had a lien on it (dealership paid it off) and was a 1 vehicle ownership that was a lease. The pricing with the current mileage and condition is fair the more I look at it. All TSB's have been done and full service history with the vehicle.

The one big negative and small issues is that it only has one FOB. The door F sport trim has 1-2mm indents made on them.

East coast cars are always cheaper to do the harsh winter weather. So, I am not surprised at the pricing of these vehicles. So, if I factor transportation cost, inspection costs, return costs, and border taxes and inspection fees. These cars are no longer a good value as I am adding another 5-10k onto that cost, minus potential trade in offering.

What this does show me is the value in the local cars.

I am going to do that if it is still on the market next month.

I am in NJ, USA, and yeah, finding a GS that I want has been incredibly difficult. I get what you are saying. But you still don't want to overpay and regret forking out the cash later. Which is the only reason I am being super patient this time around (last time I overpaid for my 2015 GS350 F Sport Crafted Line).

Just wanted to add to this thread as I just bought a 2013 GS:

Car: 2013 Lexus GS 350 AWD
Exterior: Blue
Interior: Flaxen
Mileage: 36k
Price: $24,000
Dealer: McGrath Lexus of Chicago

When I did a comparable search online there was nothing at this price range or mileage. We may have slightly overpaid for the low mileage (rare find) but wife was extremely happy upgrading from 2001 Lexus GS430...

Congratulations!!
That price is a little high, but it's basically new.

I did the same thing in 2017: upgraded from a 2001 GS430 to a 2013 GS350 awd.
And it's just been amazing.
