Hi has anyone installed beat Sonic apple car play kit? I want to update my media player, but seems that GROM has a bunch of bugs. So maybe this is a better alternative?

Hi there, I just installed10.25" Android screen from Aliexpress, $550-$600 total price.

Smooth operation, crisp screen, doesn't fell it has a bug, almost perfect. If you guys can wait for few days I will write review about it.

I'm sure it a great choice among other items.

So you replace the factory screen with their screen?

 

That's the first time I see a full screen replacement. How was it? Does that mean our 13-15 GS can have full screen? Thanks!

 

I was looking at videos and it appears that you switch out the screen. Apparently, it’s plug and play too. Everything is retained.

 

Looking forward to your review. Also how does it get internet do you have to tether phone, or is it android auto? So the 12.3" display shrinks to 10.25" ?

I installed the Beat sonic. I immediately uninstalled and went back to my GROM.

I will provide a write-up later next week. Short story, not ready for prime time. If you have a 16+ the “full screen” just stretches the image making it look blurry (the Grom uses the right way to adjust CarPlay resolution).

 

Good to know. Aside from the distorted image, how is the operation of the software? I wonder if you can set different resolution to make the image normal?

I reached out to them and the said that is just how their unit works. They only support stretching it.

The operation as ok. There was a loud humming noise when no music was playing with the car at rest (not engine noise). They said that can be fixed by routing the AUX wires separately and rotating one of the two boxes a different direction (never attempted this).
