Carlinkit is less expensive and wireless Apple Carplay, android auto not so great, designed primarily for Carplay.

GROM is a full android system with android auto and apply carplay, but it also has a bunch of hickups, crashes, bugs, seems like they solve them and create new ones with updates. If you can get over some issues it's a great system.

If you just want wireless Carplay(no need to connect phone), when you turn on the car phone automatically connects to the car, load Carplay, and bug free then Carlinkit is better.
Also I can screen mirror my iphone to the car screen.

I don't understand why Beatsonic doesn't have a wireless carplay/android auto.

Default 2016 RC without navigation capabilities 🤦‍♂️

Will this system work in my 16 RC (f sport package) even though it has no navigation currently? It’s the car’s only flaw....the original owner left it out.

Is there anyway to get aftermarket navigation in it?

I think it might, there are dip switch settings for smaller screens. I would just contact the seller.

Why..must..I..can..only..afford..a..2013...!!
so after reading everything, this may not work properly for a 2013 model! oh well...
on the other note, looks like they was trying to warn us about Coronavirus back in Feb

Wonder if they have toilet paper 🧻

Yeah factory's in China were shut down much longer than the usual Chinese new year.

Wuhan went into lockdown January 23rd, that was an unprecedented move back then given the population. Just nobody expected how contagious or fast the virus would spread to the rest of the world. By the time they went into lockdown the virus had already circulated/incubating around the world .

So now it sounds like the Carlink kit will work on a 2013-15 GS split screen with the Apple IOS 13. Anyone try this yet? Shipments may be suspended at the moment, so understandable if not able to try. I am holding out hope.

I just ordered one yesterday for my ‘16 so I can’t answer your question if it will work for the 13-15’s but according to the DHL tracking number it has shipped already so shipments are not suspended.

I reached out to them last night and they are still shipping them out. I'll most likely pull the trigger today.

edit: They shipped it out same day. 1 week for delivery

I messaged them on AliExpress a few nights ago to ask if they can support the 2015 split screen. They just got back to me:

Here is a reminder of what the issue was with the 2013-2015 GS split screen:
I will reach out to my contact at Carlinkit and find out if they actually fixed the problem. If they did there would be a newer firmware update with the fix that I don't currently have.

Peasodos, so the issue wasn’t it did not split the screen, Instead it did not allow the separate mouse control. Which you probably have said 15 times, but seeing it in action, well now I understand completely. Keep us updated for those who still have the stock 13-15 model. Thanks.
