If it works out for the other member I might put this up for sale on CL at a discount instead of shipping back to China.
I'll be down to buy if it works on mine.

Based on what I've seen from other installs, I have faith it'll display in full-screen on our 2018 since it has the newer head unit. It seems like the head units that have the ability to go full-screen from the factory should be okay whereas the older head units, like the one in our 2015, seem to be hard-coded (or something like that) to always have the screen split in two.

@SW17LS was able to install this on his 2017 LS (which I believe has the same gen head unit/software as the 16-20 GS) and have CarPlay run full-screen.
I think my mouse control was messed up because the system is designed to be full screen and it's getting confused between it own interface on the left portion and the cars stock interface on the right portion. It probably only works on 2016+ GS.

Also SW17LS system is android based. This one is different not android based(doesn't run any version of android) and built primarily for the functionality of android auto/apple carplay. like the Beatsonic one.

Hey y'all-

Yeah I have an android based kit from "Lasalit" out of China that works great, can display full screen.

Here is my thread in the 4LS forum:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...d-awesome.html

Here is the original thread about this product in the 4RX forum which is very long and has tons of users with posts from the manufacturer as well:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...017-rx350.html

On 13-15 cars apparently it does NOT go fullscreen. It will only inhabit the left screen and not the right smaller screen. On 16-17 cars it WILL go fullscreen. I assume 18-19 GS units are the same units as the 16-17 LS units (18 LS became the LS500 with the new gen nav and OEM CarPlay.

Here's a couple pictures of it running on my car:

That looks amazing, but also 2x the price of the solution I was trying to find with the carlinkit.

You have to find the unit on sale. It can be bought for less than $400 when it goes on sale.

So my 14 split screen will turn into full screen with this unit?

No. On the 13-15 cars the carplay will only inhabit the larger left side of the screen.

That looks better than the stretched look of carlinkit and beatsonic on full screen.

I Don’t think you can stretch those on the earlier models that can’t do nav full screen either.

I was talking about on the 2016+ The beatsonic has an overstretched image on the full screen. and yours is in proportion at full screen.

Passed the torch to @DuB, please update this thread when you install it. I have high hopes for your success since your factory head unit is stock and your car is 2016 with full screen navigation.

My car is still at the shop, but I'll get it installed asap when I get it back!

What would you guys say the best option is for us non '16+ owners? How big of an undertaking is it to upgrade a '15 head unit to a '16?
