Default Replaced cracked mirror glass and BSM doesn't work anymore

I replaced the mirror glass on my 2013 GSh with the same part from a 2014. I saw on the forum that you have to cut and switch the BSM wires, but after I did that the system still gives a warning light. The mirror blind spot indicator starts out being on when I switch the BSM system on, but then flashes rapidly before turning off. After that, the master warning light comes on saying "check BSM system." Has anyone else had this issue and figured out a fix?

Flipping the BSM wires only works when you do the power folding mirror mod and swapping the base.

The actual led BSM light has a different circuit board in 2013 vs 2014+..

What you can do and what I did to fix it was swap the bsm light led and wire from the original mirror onto the new on. It's just held down by silicone. I used an exacto knife to cut the silicone, make the swap, and reapply silicone.

Otherwise you need to find an original 2013 mirror with BSM that has the same exact color wires.

This happened to me when I installed my new mirror: even after swapping the wires, it only worked once, and then the car thew the error.

I took the LED out of my original mirror and hot glued it into the new using the wires as they were, and everything works fine.

When you say "as they were," do you mean with the wires flipped or in their original orientation?

You don't flip the wires, swap everything over in the original orientation.

Is the LED just a tiny circuit or that entire metal housing? I'm having trouble getting it out even after removing the visible silicone.

Ignore that question. I got the LED out of the silicone, but how do I get it out of its fixture? It looks way too wide to fit through that space.

Just take off the excess silicone and glue it down with new silicone.

Ignore that too. Got the LEDs swapped and all is well. Some advice to everyone else that cracks their mirror: find a way to get 2013 glass because this was a huge pain in the ***.
