My had the same problem. Took it to the dealer and they explained that the thermo sensor lost its calibration causing it to blow warm air instead of cool air. Took less than an hour for the tech to recalibrate and make it work again.

This happened to me the other day when temperatures dropped and my wife used the heater on passenger side the night prior. Mine was the drivers side but same issue - air would not be cold maybe cool at best even on the lowest setting but the passenger side worked as expected. Got in the car to go home later that day and it started working again...

Mine just did this today. Air coming out passenger side vents was warm and the drivers was freezing. Any idea on what the dealer will charge to recalibrate that thermo?

Under warranty, no charge.

Saw a video where an IS owner had a similar problem. He disconnected the battery for about 15 minutes, reconnected the battery and rebooted the system before restarting the engine. Without stepping on the brake pedal, hit start 2 times; the screen should display a reboot or system load screen. If you're lucky, the problem will be solved after the reboot.
Try it and let us know if it worked.

Curious if this is a simple software glitch or a defective part?
I had the fan on last night (No A/C) and the driver's side vents were cool but the passenger side was hot. None of the settings made a difference.

You can initialize the servo motors in Techstream. I did this when I changed my AC amplifier for the one from the Lux to get 3 zone climate control and make the rear seat climate/seat heaters to work. It was easy to do, maybe if the servo motor goes out of wack initializing it again will fix the problem.
INITIALIZATION SERVO MOTOR
(a) Turn the ignition switch off.
(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(c) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(d) Press the A/C OFF switch.
(e) Turn the Techstream on.
(f) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Utility / Servomotor Initialization.
(g) According to the Techstream display, perform servo motor initialization.
Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > UtilityTester Display
Servomotor Initialization
HINT:
During initialization, the AUTO indicator light comes on, and then goes off when initialization has finished.
(h) According to the Techstream display, select the Exit switch to finish initialization.
You can get the techstream cable with software on eBay or amazon for $15.
