Noisy synchro 3-2?

Hey guys,
Just wondering whether anyone here has had an instance of a noisy synchro whilst driving?
Coming down a mountain heavy on the brakes, I changed from third into second gear and heard a very short crunching noise just as the gear engaged. I did it again on the next hairpin and got the same noise again. The shifts were fine.
I can't recreate it on level ground, even whilst shifting aggressively. The car has driven perfectly since.
Am I the first to experience such an event? I'm going to get my car to a transmission shop so they can check the fluid levels are perfect, they're too hard to check without a lift. I assumed that if my synchro was busted I'd get noises whilst driving normally, but it seemed attached to the descent.

Mine usually has an abrupt 3-2 downshift during hard braking. No crunching, but the downshift is hard and jerks the car.
I've drained and filled the trans fluid twice and the noticeable 3-2 downshift is still there.
This is in automatic mode, not using the shift paddles or gear selector to change gears.

Abrupt 3 - 2 downshift during hard braking in automatic with no manual shifting. Now that's very odd... You shouldn't even feel or notice it downshifting.

You said the shifts were fine but there was crunching. Those seem mutually exclusive. What mode were you in? The car will rev match when downshifting at higher speeds under hard braking. Not sure if that's what you noticed but grinding does not sound right. I'm not sure if rev matching functions in all drive modes or not but it is more noticeable in sport or sport+. If you're going at good speed down a hill and you forced a downshift it would probably rev match.

Pretty sure was in sports+. I've had a transmission place do a drain and fill so now I'm certain it has the correct fluid level. The next time I drive through a mountain I'll know whether it's still an issue. Until then I'm not worried, it shifts like new. Thanks for the thoughts
