Subwoofer/amp/LC2i install questions
I searched quite a bit here and the webs before posting this as I 'think' I've got this right just want to make sure regarding this specific vehicle. I've purchased the following (a lot based off threads here in CL):
AudioControl LC2i
1 x 12" JL 12W1V3-4
1 x JL JX500
1 x NVX 4ga amp kit
1 x Concept Enlosures 12" sub box
1 x AudioControl Remot Bass ****
I wanted to get started on this project as it was the weekend, only thing I'm waiting on is the box. Guy is only about 3 hours from me so once it ships it should be quick. I went ahead and installed the wiring about 90% in order to save time when the box comes in. Question I have, do I just grab the 12v and ground for the LC2i from the amp using the speaker wire the kit came with (18ga)? I've already spliced pins 6 and 21 on the amp for the LC2i and the remote wire for the LC2i as well. This is the only real question I had as from what I've read the GTO feature doesn't work that well so I ran a dedicated remote wire. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
EDIT: PS: I did reach out to the few folks that had DIY threads specific to the 4th gen GS but they haven't been active in forever so I'm not expecting much there...I tried.

Do not use the same ground for the amp and LC2i. I think you will be okay using the same power source. My installer also ran the remote turn on from passenger side fuse box to the LC2i and disabled GTO. Then wired from remote out from the LC2i to the amp remote wire.
I have a pretty identical setup

Generally it's recommended to ground any audio devices to the same point as the amp. You can introduce noise into the system if it isn't grounded well, and the amp's ground is/should be SOLID.

Update: Box arrived yesterday......gorgeous, quality, packaging was top notch for sure. Favorite piece of this system by far. So there is A LOT of info out there regarding the LC2i but not really anything (that I found) on how to setup the gain, along with the amp, Accubass, etc.. Here is what I did and hope it may help someone in the future as I spent a lot of time trying to figure this out, probably just because the is the first car audio components I've installed in about 20 years. I bypassed the GTO function entirely simply based off of OP's experience in this thread. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...stall-4gs.html I set the gain on my JX500 to the specs they provided with a multi-meter to 34.6 volts at 4 ohms . This is where my confusion came in as to what to do with the LC2i. Well, as of now, I've got the Accubass threshold set all the way and Accubass **** all the way down. Removed RCA's and ran stereo at 75% with a 50hz file and got the Bass **** set to right at 6 volts as well to hopefully match the gain on the amp as much as possible. This portion was based off of information given by a local shop that I stopped by. Offered to pay them a bit for their expertise to help me tune it and this is what he said to do. Someone chime in elsewise please if necessary. Anywho, I'm quite happy with the new sound from my trunk. Hit's hard enough for me Maybe this will help someone, maybe not. Oh, and running ground and power from amp to LC2i worked like a charm as well.

I just posted an audio wiring diagram in another thread, perhaps that would be of assistance.

Now to get a setup more tuned for the Gs. A 12" cvx is nice but overkill. Plus I'd like to catch some of the higher frequencies more.
