I debadged my GS and love how much cleaner it looks, IMO. I agree with @maclem8223 It took some serious elbow grease, which scratched/marred the paint up a bit and required some polishing afterwards.

In my experience, badges are pretty pointless and just get in the way of washing/detailing. The average person knows next to nothing about their own car, let alone someone else's car so the badges really mean absolutely nothing to them & those who actually know about cars don't need badges to know what type of car it is. I think most people just see the brand/make and stop there.

I didn’t swap out the logo (I don’t think one exists in the correct size for our cars). I purchased some carbon fiber inserts that I saw in another thread here. I wanted black ones but it doesn’t seem like any exist so I settled with the carbon fiber ones and am happy with it. You have to be very close-up to notice that it’s not black. Otherwise, it looks just like the updated Lexus logo with the black background.

Personally when I see a debaged car and I know it for a fact it’s debadged, inside I get this feeling it was probably in a accident. Even though it may not be true. Especially when buying a car and it’s debadged and there’s no accident history and all I get told by the seller is it was like that before I bought it I usually walk away. But that’s me personally. And don’t get me wrong a car with body work is not an issue. Just one possibly not disclosed bothers me lol.

Badging is very common in the US. I've been to Europe and most cars are debaged or come that way, especially luxury cars.
I debage all my cars and like the cleaner look. Was easy on my gs, just used dental floss, heat gun, and some goo gone for any residue.

Debadge ftw. It's such a cleaner look. I've done it to everything I own that doesn't have pins/holes where it's mounted. My STi, MB..etc. I just did my wife's NX300. Looks so much better. Easier to detail and just a cleaner look. Worse case scenario if you don't like it, you buy the badges again and attach them, you're out less than $100..etc. It's almost absurd how much badging is put on from the factory... engine liter size, awd, model, brand...etc. It's also a feature on most car builds now that you can get the car debadged from the factory. Porsche, MB do this as well.
