Have fun keeping the Caviar clean. I consider it a hobby owning a black car. I wash mine and it's dusty 10 minutes later.

You get ten minutes?!? Swear mine has a layer of dust before I've finished drying it...

This is/was a real concern for me... I probably wouldn't have gone w/ Caviar w/ Rioja had there be more (any) other choices for an F Sport. Coming from an Ultra White, that too has been abysmal to keep fresh, but the post-wash & wax bliss was a worthy return. I also only have outdoor parking at home, and that is under a large elm tree that houses 2 squirrel families and some robins... We have blueberry bushes in the yard and some "bird berries" down the street which leads to a colorful and caustic modern art look on many mornings.

I did do the rim & tire care warranty (although I typically advise no add-on warranty for most purchases) because I KNOW I'll get my $$ back there, I certainly made use of it on the IS!

Cheers,
Tom

Took delivery today! Woo-hoo! Thanks for the input everyone, looking forward to this journey!

Also, the Caviar in sunlight looks unbelievable after a wet-sand, wax and polish! I had no idea the depth here.

Cheers, and keep spinning!

wetsanding the car limits the amount of correction he can do in the future, it must of really been scratched up to need wet sanding. Lexus paint is soft a compound and polish should take out most scratches.

It was not in perfect condition, 30k highway miles in a year and it showed on the hood. Lexus did it as part of the sale. He said wet sand but I’m not 100% sure that was done vs clay, cut and polish. Either wayI’m trying to line up PPF or ceramic but am a little strapped at the moment. Also want to tint very badly.

PPF is a must, the lexus paint is soft.

I had my front bumper, full hood, front fenders, and side mirrors wrapped in Xpel Ultimate PPF. Then ceramic coated the entire car myself.
