So I was pumping gas this morning and my car kept locking. This has never happened before so i found it really weird. I guess it may have just been accidentally pressed while in my pocket but I kept unlocking it and it kept locking after a few seconds. I'm going to double check if my settings may have changed to auto lock after a few seconds or whatever but i doubt it.

Any ideas what the issue is?

 

There have been the infamous failing door actuators that have plagued various Lexus models over the years. Hopefully yours was just a fluke...!

 

Ya i read about that. Knock on wood hopefully thats not the issue. Its under warranty but after dealing with a sunroof issue and an 02 sensor ill be pretty pissed off.

Thanks great info. It has never happened in the past when pumping gas which is why i find it extremely odd now. I will definitely dig deeper into this.

 

If you kept unlocking it without actually opening any of the doors, it will re-lock each time. Sounds like this is what was happening. This is the auto re-lock feature to prevent accidentally unlocking the vehicle & leaving it unlocked.

 

What i don't get is why has this never happened before over the 100s of times i have pumped gas. Today I pumped gas and it didnt lock. This is frustrating.

As you initially suspected, you might have pressed unlock on the fob accidentally, so the doors re-locked automatically.
