Default MY 2021 and 2027 Redesigned GS Expected

I work in the auto industry and get competitive updates on model redesigns. For a couple of years, there has been nothing on a GS update, like it was being discontinued, but in the last few months those updates have changed and now shows the GS model continuing. (LMC/Wards data). This is no guarantee, but an anticipated schedule for updates.

I'm now seeing a redesign (5th gen) of the GS for model year 2021 (releasing in calendar year 2020) and 6th gen 2027 (calendar 2026). No details yet, but excited to see it coming and long overdue!

Let the speculation begin!

We will blame you if we don't see a new redesign.

Just curious- What do you do in the air quotes "auto industry"? If you say you are car salesman then you have little credibility.

The cycles of the GS have been quite long. I am having a hard time believing that they will introduce a 5th gen in 2020 only to replace it with a 6th gen in 2026. The current gen got a refresh at the 4/5 year mark, coming out in early 2012 (as a 2013 in NA) and getting refreshed for 2016.

If we were going to see a new gen released in 2020, I would expect to be hearing some development rumors and see some test cars out and about.

I'd love for this to be true but I'm feeling pretty skeptical.

Oh Lordy...no, not a car salesperson and not working for an OEM nor a dealer. I work with auto data as a sr analyst so I can track new and used car sales.

And you get inside information about upcoming models before auto journalists/auto publications with that job?

The data is available if you pay for it because it is used for forecasting and other projections. The source was listed, which you missed. And journalists don't pay for auto data like you see on a fictional tv show.

Ahh got it, the reason I ask is that I have not heard much on a redesign.

Well, thankfully it costs nothing to get my hopes up, so I'm glad to hear/see this!

It's certainly great news if true but I don't think it would be swaying anyone's decision to buy a GS right now. If you need a car now are you going to wait 1-2 more years or even worse 7 more years? Buy one now and enjoy. Knowing Toyota and Lexus slow moves to adopt new technology, CarPlay / Android Auto might not be available or only an option

Hope this is true, I'm looking at CPO GSF in the next 18 months unless of course a new beauty is on it's way with more power! I mean a regular GS

I think this will be the next GS:

It already looks like a GS interior to be honest..... everything is very similar in location to a 4GS... AND it's sporty and RWD!
