Default Rotors and pads

Went on lexuspartsnow.com to order OEM pads and rotors for a 2014 non fsport. Came to about $500. Just want to double check before ordering if anyone else knows a cheaper place.

That’s about right I believe. I ordered mine from Bell Lexus off eBay for my base AWD for $480 or so for all New four rotors and pads.

https://www.ssl-parts.com (Superstition Springs Lexus) will likely be cheaper.

Check mylparts.com or discountpartsmonster.com and use coupon cl5 for 5 or 10% additional discount.

Also lexus of west kendall has good prices.

I have found mylparts to have more favorable shipping rates that others.

I recently replaced my brakes and rotors via Bell Lexus Scottsdale on Ebay. They had a complete kit front and rear. My only mistake was not ordering a new shim kit as it was over twice the cost at my local Lexus dealer.

You weren’t able to re-use the old shims?

I am sure you could.
But to save from any issue and with all of the brake squeal issues I have read on this board I went with new. I did not do the install as I normally would. I had credit with Lexus and so I used it to have the dealer install, I just brought them the parts minus the shim kit .

I had issues since I bought the car (Lexus Certified) with the wheels and brakes and wanted everything perfect. Had vibration from the wheels (2 came bent) dealer fixed at the time and brakes had a light vibration probably from run out or warping. The rear rotors came pretty rusted but dealer said they were fine... I asked for all of my old parts back to inspect myself and was very surprised how bad the contact area for the fronts and especially the rears were for the pads and also the overall bad condition everything was especially the front rotors were so rusted in the vents there would have been no good air flow anymore. My car brakes like new and feels better than ever now. Previous to the brake job I got 4 new OEM wheels and Michelin pilot sport a/s 3+. Car is now smooth at all speeds which had a light vibration at 78-80 mph and with hard stopping. My car is a 13 GS 450h.

Oh wow you must have had some good credit with the dealership. They quoted me $1150 to do the job and $650 just for parts. I told them thanks but I’ll buy the parts elsewhere lol

Yes, I think I had about $750 in credit because of the issues with my Lexus dealer selling me a "certified" Lexus with bent/refurbished wheels. Sometimes it pays to complain...
I paid $481.02 for the parts on Ebay via Bell Lexus.

I went OEM rotors, but I am absolutely loving the Akebono performance brake pads I got ('15 non-fsport). I only did the front, but my cost was $200 for parts (shims came with brake pads according to my mechanic). Mechanic I know that does house calls installed for $125

Yeah, from what i have heard and seen on this forum you can go NON-OEM pads, you might have noise, you might not have noise, but they should work. You most likely run into issues with NON-OEM rotors, though it seems some of the 3rd party companies that make upgraded rotors for the 4GS will work fine, it's just that you have to really research the rotors. I bought a pair of 1 piece replacement rotors from a brake distributor who is highly rated, and the rotors were a 3/4" too small; the swept area was smaller. They fitted and worked, but I went back to OEM rotors. I think the manufacturers/ distributors get the GS, GSFS, and GS-F mixed up on the regular and that causes issues....

Just starting to get good and cold but (knock on wood) no noise whatsoever thus far for me.
