Hey guys i was driving in the highway today and my check engine light came on everything was fine. But what does this mean i turn off the light hopefully it doesn't come back on?
P0430 has to do with the catalytic converter not functioning efficiently or properly.
U0100 had to do with a loss of communication with the PCM(engine management computer).
I checked and I saw your post about someone rear ending you a few days ago. Most likely these codes are related to that.
Last year the P0430 CODE Came on i turned it off and it never came back on until today. No, the car has never been in an accident or anything.Everything is working fine in the car.

P0430 can have a variety of sources. It indicates that the readings from O2 sensors before and after the CAT are too similar, which can be O2 sensor issue, CAT issue, exhaust leak, and other things.
My 2GS threw that code once in a while, and it turned out to be an exhaust leak that was easily patched.
If it came on before, went away, and has now come back, it may be a result of a progressing issue.
That's exactly what I observed in my 2GS w the exhaust leak.
@jonathancl unfortunately for me that P0430 code was because of a catalytic and I had to shell out over $1200 from the dealer for one on my old GS430!
Agreed on the P0430 code: it can be a myriad of exhaust related items so have a reputable mechanic check exhaust components (start with tightening the gas cap, then check 02 sensors, then mufflers/pipes, then cats). If you clear that P0430 code and it keeps coming back, its not going to resolve on its own even if the car seemingly drives fine.
this was just a tap on the bumper but nothing happen just the sensor went it but it was fixed. this was saturday and the light did not come in till this morning

That's what the dealer told me, too. I got a second opinion from a local shop who had me in and out for $120, and I never saw the code again.
Dealers are great at warranty repairs and replacement w brand new factory parts. They are often not the best at diagnosing issues on aging and higher mileage cars.

Actually didn't EVER service my GS430 at the dealer - I meant my local mechanic told me the bad news about the catalytic and although he wanted me to save some coin, he recommended only an OEM catalytic from Lexus. He said getting any aftermarket catalytic would likely be a band-aid solution as he felt they were never as good as the original cats.
My 2GS was 8+years old with around 85k or 90k miles when I replaced the catalytic. Never got that error code again after that replacement.
I am waiting for this code to come back on so my boy can fix it for at the dealer
Depending on what the issue is, it may require different conditions to return.
For example, w my little exhaust leak, the code only returned with prolonged city driving. I got through two annual inspections via reset and long hiway drive.
