Default 2015 F Sport Front Rotors and Brake Pads/Shims replacement?

Hello,

I'm new to the forum. Just recently purchased a used GS 350 F Sport 2015. Went to the mechanic recently to get my 10k minor checkup. They informed me that I need new front rotors and brake pads and shims. My rotors are a 2piece right now and it has some liping? The mechanic told me that I might need to get it replaced, they can't machine it because its a 2piece. I read on the forum that people switched from the 2 piece to a 1 piece because of some clicking noise? Fortunately, I haven't been experiencing this issue. My car is only around 40k miles right now. So I'm not sure what I should do. Do I really need to get rotors right now? Should I wait until my car starts making clicking noises? If I replace should I get the 2piece or go to the 1piece? I don't want to change my rotors and then there are some issues of my brakes making noises.

Also, for brake pads, I saw that people mentioned that these are pretty good?
Amazon Amazon
(Akebono ACT1118 Brake Pad Kit) Can anyone confirm this? If I do get rotors, what is the best pair to get with these? Or should I look into something else?

Thoughts and opinions please

From everything I've read on aftermarket pads, Akebono is your best choice.

Lots of folks on the forum have had a positive experience with R1 Concepts and their compatible brakes/rotors for the RWD F-Sport:

Save yourself the headache and get oem pads. Many people have low speed squeaking problem with aftermarket pads on the oem rotor. The squeaking makes it sound like a cheap car.

Used Akebonos on a lot of different cars - always great results. I personally would do the rotors and pads at the same time: if there's a problem with the rotors it can affect the pads and there's a chance you'd have to replace them prematurely.

Lol just clicked your link - I ordered those pads in 2015 for my 3rd gen!
