HI all! I am in the market for a GS350. Preferably, I am looking for a 15 GS350 as I prefer the years before the face lift.
Anyways, I currently drive a 09 G37. One of my favorite mods I did on it was the Tail as Turn module that Diode Dynamics makes. If anyone is unfamiliar, it makes the turn signals use the LED part of the taillights, instead of the halogen bulb. It was plug and play, and super simple. They do not make one for any Lexuses, but they do sell a DIY module they list as universal that should work on the GS taillights. What do you guys think?
We should make one for the GS350! The DIY module should definitely work though - I can't find any videos, but I am certain we've had a few people install it.
A little off topic but someone needs to make an entire aftermarket tail lens replacement assembly with these types of options for the 4GS!
@GSDrive i think that will definitely look unique - but do you lose the use of the standard rear turn signal bulb as a result?
Yes, the standard rear turn signal bulb is no longer used. You can still keep it in the socket. Now that I think about it, that is one of the perks of using the modules they make instead of using the DIY module. On my G37, if I ever wanted to convert back to using the standard rear turn signal, all I had to do was unplug the module and plug back the standard turn signal bulb. With the DIY, it might be more of a permanent kind of mod.
Buttttt, I would say this mod looked great for the G37 taillights and I would probably never revert back to the old turn signals. Would be awesome to see a video of how this module would look on the GS taillights.
I'm sure you can visualize it a bit...not sure if the tail lights would look odd as blinkers since they have a "disconnected" flow in terms of the light design. Notice how the trunk edge separates the tail lenses creating a tiny gap between the flow of the "L" tail light (noticed that on the infiniti's, there is no gap in the brake/tail lights as they are circular):
That gap is less noticeable at night:
So it may look really good - always fun to think of a mod before you even buy the car lol...i too am guilty of this: imagining how nice the aftermarket GLOHH tail lights for a Range Rover Sport would look even though I don't have a Range Rover Sport but was considering one last year!
GSDrive, I too came from a G37 lol. I do miss my tail as turn mod. I forgot to remove it when I sold it LOL. Nice to see a fellow G member with a GS too lol

Me too! Had an 09 coupe. But I went to a 370z before the GS.
