I have a 2018 AWD F-Sport that is parked in a garage at night.

I have had the car for almost 2 years now (purchased new) and just noticed this noise. It is not the 5 hour EVAP on page 8 of the owner’s manual but a constant high pitch noise that appears to be coming from under the rear of the car. Most will probably never notice it if you don’t park inside where you have no other ambient noises.

The other day I even went as far as to listen for it the following morning and it was still there. I know there are lots of electrical components back there but what would be humming all the time?



The car has no warning lights and will just assume it is normal, but wonder if anyone else has OCD and noticed something similar.

My 450h makes some electrical noises after the car is off too. Some of the electronics run and turn off on it's own after the car is off. It's normal.

It's most likely the lights. If you stand in front of the car does the noise stop when the lights finally turn off?
