Had my nav go out with a battery change. Lucky i had warranty on it so it didnt cost me 2500 for the replacement nav.

I bought a Toyota battery for my RX this summer. It was pretty much specked the same as a Lexus battery and it was $40 cheaper.

Had mine replaced last week (GS450h). Dealer-only item. $423 (battery only) and a few dealerships even marked it up 20% above list!

Save yourself the money from install and do it yourself. It’s just a battery, one of the easiest things for you to replace

I know it's easy. I do most of my own work on my cars and have changed every battery in every car I've ever owned. They only reason I was considering taking it to them is that this battery has leaked acid all over multiple times. I cleaned it all up once and watched it and it didn't seem to leak anymore but now it's doing it again so I want new battery and also the battery securing bolt and everything was messed up by whoever changed the battery last last time and I was wanting everything fixed if possible and I am working so much lately I don't feel like doing the full inspection and clean up of the acid.

Might still do it myself. Still deciding. I checked Costco tonight and their battery is $99.00 and 36mo warranty. Lexus battery would be $145.00 with 7 year warranty. Seems like decent price for double the warranty of Costco's. They want $70 to install which is ridiculous so I'm leaning towards getting battery from Lexus and doing it myself.

So why is the 450h battery so much more than what they quoted me?

Not sure. And the GS450h is the cheapest out of the GS-F and GS200t models. Factory battery for those models run $700+ !!! (part #28800-38100)

Based on what peasodos stated the GS450h uses an AGM battery which is why its more expensive. Should it be $400 or $700? Definitely not. I bought an AGM for my S550 and it was about $170 and the battery that it uses is massive lol.

I called my local dealer and with taxes it was around $400, it think they had it priced slightly more than the suggested retail and only had one battery in stock. Lexus Parts Now has it cheaper, but they will likely charge more for shipping. I went with a Diehard AGM battery that was slightly bigger for $193, then I modified the battery tray to fit.


Also the terminals are opposite than most battery's, so that also limits your options. $400 for a battery is stupid.

Yeah that's what I am saying the dealer is just marking up the price for the AGM and that it's better to get it elsewhere.

The oem battery size is so awkward it nearly impossible to find it without going down in capacity. Only way to get same capacity or bigger is to cut the battery tray. They did this on purpose to make people buy oem.

I checked ssl-parts.com which is actually the online parts side of my nearby dealer, Superstitions Springs Lexus and when I looked up the battery for my 2013 GS350 STD RWD it is over $600.00. That's weird since when I called the dealer they said about $140.00 to pickup the battery.

The Lexus replacement battery number is Lexus00544-MF240-575.

Tons of places advertise the battery starting around $114.00.

What about a Toyota battery from the dealer? If they carry the proper one it would be cheaper than the Lexus battery.
