Maybe they revised the system on the 2020 model because this ES now has both Apple Car Play and Android Auto.
And when I tested the performance and driving dynamics, I tested both on Normal mode and u can really feel the GS' AVS working there and the way it delivers power is day and night different. These are just two very different cars and I don't know how Lexus can replace the GS with ES. The GS is a luxury sport sedan and ES is a luxury cruiser.

Yes, the GS doesn't bounce or lean too much when u go over a dip on the freeway or during hard braking and cornering because the AVS is always monitoring and adjusting the suspension as needed. It feels more planted at all times, especially at high speeds and it's more obvious in S+ mode but I rarely put mine is S or S+ mode. I can push the car hard safely enough in normal mode for most of the time. That's how good the GS handling is to me. When I put my foot down on the ES, I can feel it going fast but when I looked down it's only 80-90. Do the same with the GS, it doesn't feel that fast but ur already going over 100 without even knowing. Cars without AVS doesn't feel the same, just drive both under the same conditions and u'll see the difference almost immediately.

Yes! When I had the new ES as a loaner for 4 days, that was exactly my experience. I would be flooring it to merge onto the freeway and such, and would think “oops I better slow down”, only to look down and see I’m actually doing the speed limit. This happened to me several times to the point where I couldn’t help but notice. The GS though you can get up to speed quickly and you’re going even faster than you realize. It was one of the first things I noticed when driving the two back to back.
