I'm thinking as more leased 2017s hit the market 2016 prices may drop some, which interests me if 2016's are otherwise identical to their 2016 counterparts.
No real difference between the 2016-2020 GS, other than they dropped the Luxury trim after 2017. So by looking at 2016 you double your chances to find a Luxury package (if you're into that).

Only difference is that all the safety systems like auto emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep, etc. were made standard starting with the 2017 model year. The same systems were optional on 2016s. If you want those features and are looking at 2016s, an easy way to tell if it has them is by seeing if there is a camera mounted at the top of the windshield behind the rearview mirror. If the camera is there, it has all of the safety features.

And as @OUT FOX EM mentioned, go for the Luxury package, unless you're looking for an F-Sport. I'd get one for that leather wrapped airbag on the steering wheel alone... & maybe those 18-way seats too.

I always just looked at the steering wheel for the radar cruise and lane keep assist buttons.

With that said, it’s pretty hard to find a 2016 without these options.
