Going back to 2-piece rotors?
Folks, long story short: I have a 2015 RWD GS350 F-Sport. Here's a time line for reference:
@ 25640 MILES - Purchased CPO
@ 45386 MILES - Original 2-piece rotors clicks, and made noise at slow stops (not a squeal, more like a friction/slipping jerking noise). Dealer replaced for 1-piece rotors under TSIB L-SB-0015-18
@ 63,000 MILES - The squeal began, and got worse.. and worse.
@ 65,000 MILES - Swapped out pads for Akebono Ceramic. Cleaned and lubed all contact points, bedded pads in correctly. Noise was gone for about 3 weeks.
@ 69,000 MILES - Sanded rotors to remove glaze, cleaned everything up again. Noise came back after an hour of driving.
@ 70734 MILES - (Yesterday) Brakes are squealing like mad from 10-5 mph. I was at the dealership yesterday, the squeal was so loud in the drive in area that EVERYONE turned around and looked at me like i bought a knockoff Lexus and not a real one. LOL
(here's the question, if you don't feel like reading the rest)
I've only got a couple of remedies left to try before replacing the front brakes altogether. My question is, since the TSB was done to change to 1-piece, which included a shim for the hub. If I decided to go back to 2-piece, i'm assuming I need to remove that shim? (See link for TSB). Or if I decide to stay with 1-piece, and go aftermarket (such as R1Concepts, Centric, etc.) do I keep the hub shim in place?
I realized that i got about 25K miles out of the brakes before they started acting up, so I am not complaining. It is what it is. I just want to have quiet brakes. The noise is not a normal squeal, it is very loud and obnoxious. Otherwise, I love this car (it's actually my wife's). To be fair, Park Place Lexus Grapevine here in North Texas has been great to me. They've replaced my brakes, battery, and now a shock absorber, all under CPO warranty. They have never given me any pushback, and have always been accommodating. So I don't have any complaints about the brand or the service.

Why would you go back to two piece rotors that were previously clicking? Not to mention it costing 3x more.
You should install pads with oem shims, below is the part number for the oem shims. I tried ceramic pads once on a previous car and even after bedding they always squeak when they are cold. Never again, never had an issue with the softer oem pads.

My part# for the OEM pads is 04465-30491, correct?
Do you know the correct part # for the 1-piece rotors? I looked up 43512-WY010 & 43516-WY020, but it looks like they belong on RC-F and are slotted. I got the part number off of the TSB
