2016 GS350 AWD Exhaust
I'm about to pull the trigger on an immaculate low-mileage 2016 GS350 AWD. The only thing I'd want to modify on the car is the exhaust - stock it has a nice quiet growl that I'd like to amplify. I'm thinking something throaty and raspy with a nice growl without being loud like a sports car.
I've done some research here and see a lot of discussion about Invidia and Borla full systems that people have installed, but I'm wondering if anyone has simply cut out the stock mufflers and welded in something else? If so, what...and if not, why? Are there concerns of codes being thrown, unreliability or warranties voided? I simply removed the factory mufflers on my 1993 Cadillac Seville and replaced with Flowmaster 40 Series Delta's, but that was 10+ years ago and I realize that's a completely different car from a different era.
Thank you for any and all feedback. Looking forward to joining you guys as I step up from my 2001 ES300 with 200k+ miles haha (great car that still runs well, I'm honestly going to miss it.)

Do you have a part number for something like that? Just curious what the price runs on it. I never knew there was a different intake between them.

Intake Sound Creator to generate a more sporting engine note. In a technique similar to that used in the LFA, the Intake Sound Creator uses a special damper (see illustration of intake tubing below) to amplify the natural vibration of the intake pulse and then channels it into the cabin as a pleasingly sporty intake roar.

I agree with peasodos, it's well worth it as it sounds great and only when it's being revved..
Sound is all a matter of taste and preference but remember these are basically an Aurion V6 , not the nicest sounding motor to stick an exhaust on.

Thanks for the input. I didn’t realize that there was a simple cheap intake swap from the GS F Sport that would accomplish my goals. I’m going back to negotiate price today, thinking maybe I can negotiate that intake into the deal. Is there a part number for the entire assembly, or does it need to be pieced together?

Are you sure? I thought all GS350s had the sound generator, F Sport or not. Similar to how all IS350s have them.
I took mine off.

I knew the 450h didn’t have it, but thought all 350s did.

@GoodRevs @OUT FOX EM Don't get the f-sport or IS intake, apparently your cars already has the sound generator, only the 450h like my car doesn't have it.

All 4th Gen GS 350s have the sound generator.

Appreciate all of the feedback. I pulled the trigger on a 2016 GS350 AWD pearl white/flaxen with premium/cold weather package at 30k miles earlier today. Literally nothing I want to change other than enhancing that growl when revving.
