Android Phone Echo on Calls

I have a 2015 GS and am using a Samsung Note 9 phone and I have 2 issues with it. The phone syncs up well with my GS to play music and talk on the phone, though there are many times people I'm talking with (hands free) using the GS mic and speakers say they get an echo of my voice on their end. It seems better when they call me they say. The echo doesn't differ when I'm calling another cell number or landline.
The other issue is similar, but it's an echo I hear in my car of myself speaking when talking to someone on the phone.
I've tried turning my phone and car volume down and a few other things, but it can still happen yet not all the time. Anyone else run into this and what did you do? And no, I'd rather not go to an iPhone, so don't suggest that.

In my experience this is just the fault of bluetooth protocols and has happened to me in all my cars. I don't think iPhone users are immune to it 100 percent of the time either. When it happens to me I just reinitiate the call as you said or I disable and re-enable bluetooth on the phone to fix it.
