Opinion post..service
I bought a 2015 GS 350 F-Sport last week.. it’s due for it’s 30k service next week (29,900 today).
Do you all take it to a Lexus dealer($$$$) or a local shop that can look it up and do it($$$)?
I plan to drive the car until it dies.
I don’t like paying for things that aren’t needed to be replaced (filters).

It's out of warranty so get your local mechanic to service it. The only benefit in having the dealership service the car is the relationship with the dealer - you will be far more likely to have goodwill repairs approved.

What I do that has worked for over one million trouble free miles. At 30,000 miles the oil needs to be changed and brake fluid. The 30,000 service will be about $600. I do everything that needs to be replaced done a la carte. I order my cabin, oil and air filters on line along with the wiper blade inserts. These will be about $60. The wiper inserts, cabin and air filter will take 5-10 minutes to replace. I buy Mobil 1 oil at Walmart for $23 for a five quart jug. Twice a year in the spring and fall Mobil runs a $12 rebate. All done on line with an upload of the receipt. I take the oil and filter to my local Lexus dealer who charges be $30 labor for the oil and $120 for the brake fluid change. Total for 30,000 mile $221 with rebate $233 without.

Out of curiosity, in your million miles did you do regular diff, fuel,a brake and tranny services? Americans seem to be allergic to what I would consider 'regular maintenance', did you follow your service manual or were you more proactive?

Personally I prefer to service my own cars. Perhaps you choose to do otherwise. I enjoy it.
Perhaps find a good local mechanic; use them for everything so they get to know your car.
I service all fluids; you will get differing opinions here.
All good and enjoy your beautiful car!

Regular services like fluids and filters I'll always do myself. *knocks on wood* My lexies have never needed major service to need a shop, but if they did I would choose a highly recommended shop over the dealer any day.
One advantage of a dealer is the possibility of a loaner or transport - the dealers around me are very generous with that so you can always factor that if needed.
If you can't do fluids yourself, you can always do filters easily. Freds already touched on that point - takes minutes and a few bucks. Then just tell your local guy exactly what you want done, never go into a shop and say "give me the XXX,XXX maintenance needed" That's an open door to some assraping!

Lately i've been getting an oil change done at the dealership as it comes with a multi-point inspection - any issues they find i typically go and get fixed with my local shop for way less $$$.

Same here.i drive so little each year, only do 1 oil change per year. The multi points inspection is worth $100 oil change to me. Plus other perks like free loaners, coffee and pastries.
